After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and working for years in the financial industry, Jared received a fateful envelope in the mail — a jury summons.
We have all received these envelopes before, and most of us dread them, but Jared dutifully went to jury service with an open mind. His mind was so open, in fact, that he was selected to sit as a juror for a three-week civil trial. While the eleven other jurors struggled to stay awake, Jared was riveted. While sitting as a juror, Jared knew that becoming a trial lawyer was his calling.
Jared immediately enrolled at California Western School of Law, packed his bags, and moved to San Diego. During law school, Jared was drawn to criminal defense for one primary reason — he wanted to defend people and their freedom, rather than corporations and their money.
Jared took an accelerated path through law school and graduated early. He interned with the Alternate Public Defender’s Office in San Diego and an acclaimed private criminal defense lawyer. After graduation, Jared immediately passed the California Bar Exam, and was soon hired as a Deputy Public Defender in Kern County.
As a brand new public defender, Jared instantly inherited a massive caseload of well over 300 misdemeanor cases. Many new public defenders crumble under such pressure. However, Jared’s talents in the courtroom, his dogged work ethic, and his frequent wins in trial did not go unnoticed. Jared was promoted to felony trial work in less than a year.
After successfully trying numerous serious and violent felonies, Jared relocated to the Bay Area to go into private practice. Once again, Jared rapidly gained the respect and esteem of lawyers, judges, and prosecutors in Alameda County and throughout the Bay Area. Jared is proud of the stellar reputation he has earned.
Over the course of his career, Jared has successfully represented clients accused of special circumstance murder, sex crimes, gang crimes, DUI, narcotics trafficking, grand theft, insurance fraud, bank robbery, and domestic violence. He treats every client, no matter what they are accused of, with dignity, respect, and compassion. He fights every case with the legal skill and winning strategy he has consistently proven throughout his career. Notably, none of the special circumstance murder cases Jared has completed have resulted in either the death penalty or life without the possibility of parole.
In his spare time, Jared enjoys hiking throughout California with his wife and two children, going to rock concerts, cooking, gardening, playing guitar, and his latest hobby — building, programming, and flying custom drones.
