Child Molestation

crimlaw

Child molestation is one of the most serious offenses a person can  face in the criminal justice system.  Child molestation charges carry severe prison sentences.  A conviction on a child molestation charge also results in lifetime registration as a sex offender.  The stigma of permanent registration in a public database of sex offenders can be as significant as the possibility of spending time in custody.

At Bonjour, Thorman, Baray and Billingsley we understand the issues an individual faces in battling child molestation charges.  Each of us has handled a large number of child molestation cases. We have the experience and expertise to contest  charges in which there has been an accusation of sexual molestation of a child.  We are there to help the client navigate the dangers they face with such an allegation.  We work to help the client avoid registration as a sex offender and effectively confront the charges.

In these cases we immediately start to build a defense through interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence to challenge the accusations.  It is important to explore whether there any motives to fabricate an accusation.  In many cases, we are contacted by the client while the investigation is ongoing and charges have not been filed. We are able to offer important advice to help protect the client during the investigative stage.  As certified criminal law specialists, we have the knowledge to navigate through the legal issues that are unique to child molestation cases.

We recognize the sensitive and delicate nature of cases involving allegations of sexual misconduct with a child.  We have working relationships with the DA’s who prosecute the cases and the judges who impose sentence. We are there to help guide our client through a dangerous and difficult time.  We provide a strong, effective advocate for the client in courtroom, along with a deft, diplomatic touch outside the courtroom.

Contact us immediately if you or a friend or loved one has been arrested for a child molestation offense.
